Leighton and Suzanne Jones are missionaries with the Assemblies of God. They have been pastors in Southern California and missionaries in both West Africa and Asia Pacific. In recent years Leighton was appointed as Church Development Specialist for the U.S. Missions department, focusing on revitalization of local churches. He holds a BA in Biblical Studies from Vanguard University, MA in Theology, and D.Min. in Church Growth and Renewal from Fuller Theological Seminary. Leighton is an adjunct professor for Asia Pacific Theological Seminary. He encourages pastors, church leaders and church planters toward effective ministry and is the founder and executive director of the Empower Ministries Team which provides seminars and workshops on a variety of topics helpful to local churches. He is also a member of the International Committee for Natural Church Development. Suzanne has an MA degree in Counseling and is currently working on her doctorate in Educatioin from Fielding University.
Leighton and Suzanne have accepted a role in Pacific Oceania that is two fold: (1) President of South Pacific Bible College located in Fiji and (2) Director of Pacific Oceania Educational Ministries (POEM) leading a task force to strengthen the Bible Schools and Institutes throughout the Pacific Islands, as well as assist local church development, especially in the areas of discipleship and leadership training.
